There are some rumors out there on the internets that Valve is porting Steam to the Mac. A few days ago, Valve released a number of marketing images spoofing various Mac ads which include characters from various Valve games such as Left 4 Dead and Team Fortress. It seems that MacNN has received direct confirmation from Valve marketing VP Doug Lombardi that they will in fact be porting a number of their games to the Macintosh platform. This is indeed good news for us Mac gamers. My only hope is that the ports are truly native and do not rely on Cider technology. Hopefully Valve will make an actual press release soon, although at this point it’s looking pretty solid.
