Hey there hi there ho there to all you Awesome PokePeople! I hope everyone is having a good week so far, and if you’re in SoCal, I hope you’re finding a way to beat this heat wave! Whooo doggy, it’s a hot one all of a sudden, isn’t it? Well, it’s a good thing that this weeks PokeMonday is all about cool breeze’s and the water Pokémon of Coronado Island!
The beautiful island of Coronado rests right off the coast of San Diego, connected by a towering bridge, reminiscent of the bifrost which connects Midgard with Asgard. And much like Asgard, Coronado is a mythical place, it’s almost like stepping into another world. The view driving across the bridge is just magnificent, and it really gives the feeling of dimensional travel due to it’s height and the sights visible at it’s peak. As soon as you cross the bridge, you’ll be directed straight through the heart of downtown Coronado. Filled with unique eateries and tons of shopping establishments, I got the feeling that I was driving through a movie set replica of Beverly Hills. But then I opened up Pokemon Go and got an even bigger surprise! Downtown Coronado was FULL of pokestops! Boom. All of a sudden my wife and I are cruising down the boulevard just swiping at every pokestop we come across. And let me tell you, we came across a lot of pokestops on our drive to our hotel. Our hotel, by the way, was the grand Loews Coronado Bay Resort, which is situated on it’s own personal peninsula from Coronado island. This peninsula proved to be a gold mine for hunting pokemon! Such a wide variety would present itself continuously through the day, with or without a lure or incense active. I took a screenshot of one such incident, actually. You can see in the photo I was just walking around, no incense or lure, and all these pokemon just pop up. It was great! I highly recommend taking a trip to Coronado, whether it’s just for a day, or if you plan a three day weekend. You won’t be disappointed!
Until next time, PokePeople, I hope you have a great week and happy hunting!
